Day 1: San Francisco
Arrive in San Francisco International Airport and go over to the Hertz rental office in the airport.  Check in and pick up the vehicle you chose for the tour (Sedan, convertible, van, or SUV).  Enter the address of your San Francisco Hotel into the Hertz “never lost” Navigational System and enjoy your stress free drive to your beautiful hotel!  Step out of the door of your beautiful hotel into one of the most exciting cities in the world!

Day 2: San Francisco

Day 3: Sonoma
After breakfast its time to head to the beautiful wine country of Napa Sonoma. You will first travel across the incredible Golden Gate Bridge, make sure you stop and take some pictures! Visit some wineries (we will provide you with a list of the best ones to visit) and explore the town of Sonoma, one of the first settlements in California. By this time you will be ready to check into your beautiful lodge, your home for the next two nights.

Day 4: Sonoma
Today after a hearty breakfast you will be exploring “the valley of the moon” by bicycle. The tour visits outstanding wineries in the Sonoma Kenwood area revealing the history and beauty of the countryside on quiet roads. Bike riders of all abilities will be comfortable with this tour which includes a gourmet lunch. You may be ready for one of the areas famous spas after the ride!

Day 5: Mendocino
Enjoy breakfast then begin your journey to the coast. The first part of the trip will be spent driving through lush vineyards and rolling hills. Once you arrive at the coast you will head north with beautiful beaches and cliffs along the way. Make sure you stop at Fort Ross an early Russian fort built on the Coast in 1812. Arrive in Mendocino, a beautiful Victorian town next to the Pacific Ocean full of interesting shops and restaurants.

Day 6: Mendocino
After breakfast it is time to take a trip back in time on the World Famous Skunk Train. You will be traveling on a historic Steam Engine from the coast through the majestic redwood forest. After the 3.5 hour ride you may want to head to the beach or do some shopping!

Day 7: Ferndale
Enjoy breakfast then you will head north on the coast and then inland to the Highway of the Giants through the Redwoods. We will provide you maps and the best places to stop to fully appreciate the wonder of these majestic trees. Tonight and tomorrow you will be staying in Ferndale a wonderful historic town on the edge of the forest.

Day 8: Ferndale
After breakfast it is time to visit some of the famous groves of the redwoods and explore these majestic forests in more detail. Day 9: Mt Shasta

You will be heading up the wild Pacific Coast through several spectacular Redwood Forests and then west along the rarely visited Klamath River Canyon to Mt Shasta your home for the next two nights.

Day 10: Mt Shasta
Today after a hearty breakfast you will be exploring the Mt Shasta area. In the morning you will be heading to McCloud falls, a string of three different water falls cascading along the beautiful McCloud River. In the afternoon you will be driving up snow capped Mt Shasta for incredible views and a high country hike if you desire. Day 11: South Lake Tahoe
After breakfast it is time to head to beautiful blue Lake Tahoe. On the way you will be visiting Burney Falls a California State Park featuring one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the state. Then you will be passing through Lassen Park, a volcanic experience like no other with majestic peaks, bubbling mud pots, and stunning lakes. After a full day of beautiful mountain scenery you arrive in exciting South Lake Tahoe your home for the next two nights.

Day 12: South Lake Tahoe
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and get ready for a big day. We suggest you use your car today to drive around the lake. We will provide you with maps and the must places to stop along the way. Day 13: Yosemite
After breakfast its time to head to the spectacular Yosemite National Park. You will be heading south into Nevada and then over the Tioga Pass into the park. Day 15: Monterey/Carmel
After breakfast it is time to visit the exquisite Monterey coast. Your drive will take you across the San Joaquin Valley, an agricultural wonderland, then to the Monterey Peninsula. After breakfast it is time to drive the famous 17 mile drive along the coast. You will want to stop along the way to savor the majestic beauty of this part of the California Coast.
